Summary Annual Report (SAR)

The following is a summary of the Annual Return/Report of Employee Benefit Plan (Form 5500) for the Young Men’s Christian Association Retirement Fund Retirement Plan (the “Plan”), EIN#13-5562401, Plan No. 001, for the plan year beginning July 1, 2023, and ending June 30, 2024. The Annual Return/Report is filed with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employee Benefits Security Administration, as required under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (“ERISA”).

The Plan is a multiple employer defined contribution, money purchase pension plan for an association of employers.

Basic Financial Statement

Benefits under the Plan are provided by employer and employee contributions. Plan expenses were $219,820,000. These expenses included $132,864,000 paid to the YMCA Retirement Fund for the purchase of life annuities and $86,956,000 in benefits paid to participants and beneficiaries. A total of 94,903 persons were participants in or beneficiaries of the Plan at the end of the plan year, although not all of these persons had yet earned the right to receive benefits.

The value of Plan assets, after subtracting the liabilities of the Plan, was $3,735,650,000 as of June 30, 2024, compared to $3,624,230,000 as of June 30,2023. During the plan year, the Plan experienced an increase in its net assets of $111,420,000. The Plan had total income of $331,240,000, including employer contributions of $200,784,000 employee contributions of $7,896,000, and interest credited to account balances of $122,560,000.

Minimum Funding Standards

Enough money was contributed to the Plan to keep it funded in accordance with the minimum funding standards of ERISA.
