We Offer Financial Support To Retirees In Crisis The YMCA Retirement Fund’s Retiree Emergency Assistance Program provides grants to help YMCA retirees who find themselves in a financial crisis. This program is supported by a generous gift from Peter E. Berger and proceeds from the Harold C. Smith Fundraiser. Retirees with emergencies that fall within the following categories are eligible to apply for a grant: Health: Expenses, not covered by insurance, incurred by me, my spouse and/or my dependents Examples include itemized bills from medical, dental, or pharmaceutical providers (Cost of cosmetic dentistry and the cost of health insurance are excluded) Shelter: Expenses to prevent foreclosure/eviction from my primary residence Natural Disaster: Expenses, not covered by insurance, incurred to repair damage to my primary residence due to an act of nature or FEMA-declared disaster Examples include tornado, fire, earthquake, flood Other: Expenses to alleviate other financial crises that impede the ability to maintain a sustainable quality of life For more information please download the Retiree Emergency Assistance Program application form.
