Your Retirement Information, When You Need It
In your online account, access secure self-service tools to easily view benefit details, manage personal details like your address, email, and phone number, view and update your annuity deposit banking information, and access important documents like your 1099-R anytime.
Are annuity payments subject to federal and/or state income tax withholdings?
Federal income taxes may be automatically withheld from your annuity payments. If you want to change the amount withheld—or choose not to have federal taxes withheld—you can do so by submitting this IRS Form W‑4P.
Y Retirement does not withhold state taxes (with the exception of those retirees who live in New York), and these taxes can vary quite a bit between states. We encourage you to connect with a tax expert to learn more about how these could affect you.
How does Social Security tie into your retirement plans?
For most retirees, Social Security is an important source of income, but it’s designed to be just one part of your overall retirement plan—not your only source of support. Your benefit amount can be affected by several factors, so it’s helpful to stay informed. To learn more about Social Security benefits, visit www.ssa.gov.
Can the beneficiary be changed for the retired death benefit?
Yes - all you need to do is complete the Designation of Beneficiary for the Retired Death Benefit form and have it notarized before mailing it in.
