Honoring the Legacy of YMCA Professionals

The YMCA Retirement Fund is proud to share one of its most rewarding initiatives: The Legacy of My Career website. This website, made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Kautz Family YMCA Archives, the YMCA of the USA and the Fund, captures the outstanding accomplishments of women and men who dedicated a career of service to the YMCA Movement. We hope the powerful stories highlighted on this website will inspire current and future generations of YMCA professionals.

On The Legacy of My Career website, you will discover the personal accounts of well-known YMCA professionals through interviews, photos, and career highlights. Among these YMCA legends, you will read about Julius Jones, who tackled societal issues such as gang violence, poverty, and racism. You will also listen to Cathi Duchon share her experience as one of the first women to become CEO of a YMCA. Bill Cameron, another YMCA icon, reflects on his achievements, including his induction into the National YMCA Hall of Fame.

These stories are just a few examples of the important history captured on this website. Take a moment and explore the incredible legacy of YMCA professionals who made a significant impact on the lives of the people they served.
