For employees who spend most of their careers with the Y, the Fund's benefits are a major source of retirement income. Therefore, the Fund's investment policy is to maximize returns and minimize risk, empowering Y employees to achieve economic security.
The Fund has adopted two long-term investment objectives:
Generate returns sufficient to meet or exceed future obligations.
Maintain sufficient liquidity to meet an uninterrupted stream of benefit payments.
To reflect the Fund’s long-term investment strategy, benchmark comparisons will typically be over longer periods such as one-, three-, five-years, and longer.
The money contributed to the Retirement Plan, Savings Plan, and the interest credits, are invested at the direction of the Board in accordance with its investment policy as implemented by Retirement Fund Management.
